            • Wellington has long been known for its vibrant youth scene.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\n

                    • Many people want to cycle around Wellington but live up steps and don\u2019t have anywhere to store a bike.<\/span>\n

                      • Do you support the provision of secure, weatherproof bike parking on city streets so that people can keep their bikes in the same way you currently support car owners?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
                      • Internationally, cities that are nicer places to walk around are considered better places to live. What will you do to improve the experience of pedestrians in Wellington such as wider footpaths, less on street parking, more green spaces, protection from the wind and rain?<\/span><\/li>\n
                      • Bike theft seems out of control right now (showing that bikes are VERY popular, but disappointing for their owners).\u00a0<\/span>\n

                        • What will you do to stop thieves being able to easily steal bikes in Wellington?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
                        • The council has to push through some big and expensive projects – particularly LGWM and Rapid Transit.\u00a0<\/span>\n

                                      Hard Hitting Questions<\/span><\/h1>\n

                                      1. What is your position on the Three Waters Reform and why have you come to that position?<\/span><\/li>\n
                                      2. Waka Kotahi is currently building a pedestrian crossing along Cobham Drive that is to stop people running across the road. Some current candidates want this removed because the estimated 30sec increased\u00a0 journey time to the average car journey. This crossing makes it safer for pedestrians and reduces the walking time by 15 mins from Miramar Shops to Kilbirnie.\u00a0<\/span>\n
                                          \n
                                        • Which is more important to you, motorists saving 30sec at the expense of 15 min detour for pedestrians or providing more safe journey options for active mode transport which is within line of LGWM objectives and goal of improving all modes of transport connectivity? And why have you come to that position?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
                                        • There is currently no funding allocated to physical work for climate change adaptation. All that seems to be in the pipeline is planning. Communities are looking to the Council for the creation of a multi-party, community-led and council-funded taskforce to accelerate impact assessments and action.\u00a0<\/span>\n
