    • Wellington City Council has committed to normalising te Reo Maori.<\/span>\n

      • Would you bring in household food waste collection to stop this from going to landfill?<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Internationally, cities that are nicer places to walk around are considered better places to live. What will you do to improve the experience of pedestrians in the Harbour Ward, such as wider footpaths, less on street parking, more green spaces, protection from the wind and rain?<\/span><\/li>\n
      • What are you doing to ensure young people\u2019s voices are heard and actioned to keep our city vibrant and growing?<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Dog owners in Christchurch have been issued with a lifelong metal disk engraved with their pet\u2019s unique identification number from June 2022 under a change to dog registrations that will help the environment and save money.<\/span>\n

        • Do you think Hutt City Council should adopt this policy?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
        • Should councils be funding and organising community events?<\/span><\/li>\n
        • Many bus stops in Lower Hutt, are not at the required 15m entry taper, a 15m marked bus stop box and a 9m taper exit to ensure all bus stops are compliant with both Waka Kotahi requirements and GWRC accessibility charter to allow for the bus to kneel for those passengers who need it. Some of these non-compliant bus stops have car parks marked right up to the bus stop on both sides. <\/span>\n

          • If you had to make the decision, would you remove the carparks to make the bus stop compliant which might be against community wishes or leave the bus stop as non-compliant?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
          • Climate change is one of our biggest threats. <\/span>\n

            • What will you personally do to role model decarbonisation?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
            • Water is a precious and needed resource.<\/span>\n

              • Should councils make it compulsory for houses to install water tank storage for watering their garden and\/or offer tank storage at a discounted price?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
              • In your view is the Central Government overloading councils with regulation and legislation?<\/span><\/li>\n
              • How do you propose to foster a more positive public impression of more active modes of transport such as cycling and walking?<\/span><\/li>\n
              • Should councils be forced to treat their potable water with fluoride?<\/span><\/li>\n
              • Do you support more housing in the ward, and if so, how would you see this achieved?<\/span><\/li>\n
              • With the recent slips in Wainuiomata trapping people in the Suburb, how will you help that community to get a second alternative route to Wainuiomata and will you aim to have it in the Long Term Plan?<\/span><\/li>\n
              • Do you think climate change should be the number one concern at the ballot box?<\/span><\/li>\n
              • The entry into Stokes Valley is no longer fit for purpose, given the increase in population and traffic into the valley. It is chronically bottlenecked, is vulnerable to flooding and accidents, and is indirect (so wastes petrol). <\/span>\n

                • Will you help Northern Ward councillors to gain a direct on\/off access to the motorway for Stokes Valley?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
                  Hard Hitting Questions<\/span><\/h1>\n

                  1. What is your position on the Three Waters Reform and why have you come to that position?3<\/span><\/li>\n
                  2. What is your position on the $199 Million Cross Valley Link Project and would you be supporting or opposing it in the long term plan?<\/span><\/li>\n
                  3. There is currently no funding allocated to physical work for climate change adaptation.\u00a0 All that seems to be in the pipeline is planning. Communities are looking to the Council for the creation of a multiparty, community-led, council-funded taskforce to accelerate impact assessments and action. Do you agree with the community’s call for such a response?\u00a0 And, if so, how would you see it resourced and funded?<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
